Open Channel Flow Measurement
Open-channel flow measurement is achieved with NIVELCO EasyTREK and EchoTREK ultrasonic level transmitters mounted above the liquid surface over a flume or weir. The transmitter measures the time of flight of an ultrasonic pulse to the surface and back, and the QUEST+ adaptive signal-processing software converts the level to a flow-proportional output using pre-programmed flume/weir parameters. Non-contact operation makes the system ideal for wastewater, stormwater and effluent channels where a contacting sensor would foul or corrode.
