Cookie Policy
Last updated 28 September 2026
This policy explains what JOAT’s website stores on your device and how you control it. Read it alongside the Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. Local storage does the same job in a different way. This policy calls all of them cookies.
How JOAT asks
Nothing optional runs until you choose. On your first visit a banner asks whether to allow analytics and marketing cookies. Reject all and Accept all sit side by side at the same size, and Customise lets you decide one category at a time. No category is switched on in advance, and browsing on without choosing does not count as agreement.
Necessary
Always on, because the site needs it to work. JOAT’s website uses one.
Name: joat-cookie-consent
Stored in: your browser’s local storage, readable by this website only
Purpose: remembers your cookie choice, when you made it, and which version of this policy it applies to
Kept for: 12 months, then the banner asks again
Analytics
Off unless you allow them, and none are in use at the moment. Framer’s built-in site statistics count visits without cookies and without storing anything on your device, so they run whatever you choose. If JOAT adds an analytics service that uses cookies, such as Google Analytics, it will be listed here before it runs, and it will only load if you allow analytics.
Marketing
Off unless you allow them. JOAT uses Google Ads to measure its advertising and to show JOAT adverts to people who have visited this site. If you allow marketing, Google’s tag loads and these are set:
Name: _gcl_au, set by this website. It stores an advertising click identifier so a visit can be matched to an advert. Kept for 90 days.
Google’s own cookies: set on google.com and doubleclick.net, such as IDE, under Google’s own privacy policy. Google decides how long they last, up to two years.
If you do not allow marketing, the Google tag does not load and none of these are set.
Other websites
The site does not embed video players, maps or social media feeds. Links to partner websites and social media take you to those sites, which set their own cookies under their own policies.
Changing your choice
Open Cookie Settings from the footer of any page to change your choice. It applies straight away. If you withdraw consent, reload the page to stop anything already running, and clear your browser’s cookies to remove anything set before. Your browser settings can also block or delete cookies.
