The PSTX is the advanced range in ABB's soft starter portfolio, intended for large motors and for applications where the starter is expected to do more than simply ramp up. Torque control gives genuinely smooth pump starting and stopping, which matters on water networks where hydraulic shock is the real risk. The bypass contactor is built in and verified by ABB, so panel size and heat generation drop, and complete motor protection is contained in the one unit rather than distributed across separate relays.
